Serena Thandi

Consultant

Serena has a background in political analysis, research, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on UK politics and policy.

Before joining Shearwater, she worked in the House of Commons as a Caseworker and Constituency Officer for a Labour MP and Senior Whip, having previously held the same role for another Labour MP. She worked across constituency and national policy issues, identifying emerging trends through casework and translating these into insights to support political strategy and communications.

She supported engagement around forthcoming legislation, working with government, local authorities, and civil society organisations, and coordinating meetings and roundtables to inform policy development.

She also has research and editorial experience with the Bulletin of Advanced Spanish, including contributing to a UKRI-funded project in partnership with University College London and Instituto Cervantes focused on education policy and curriculum development.

Serena holds a Master’s degree in Modern History from King’s College London and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from University College London. She is a native English speaker and fluent in Spanish.
