Lowri Evans becomes Senior Advisor
Lowri Evans, who retired from the European Commission in 2019 after 35 years with the institution, will join Shearwater as a Senior Advisor on 1 March.
Widely respected inside the Brussels policy-making community and beyond, Lowri finished her career as Director-General for Internal Market and Industry. She spent the majority of her career in DG Competition, regulating anti-trust, mergers and state aid, before being appointed Director-General for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs in 2010.
Commenting on her appointment Peter Guilford, co-founder of Shearwater, said “Lowri’s experience speaks for itself. It is her formidable intellect and her ability to formulate policy solutions that will be attractive to Shearwater clients and staff alike.”
Lowri added, “I believe it is more important than ever that public and private sector work hand-in-glove to achieve positive results for the European economy and society, and I know this is something my new colleagues at Shearwater believe as well.”
Lowri joins Karl Falkenberg in the Brussels office of Shearwater. Together they have occupied the most senior industry and environment jobs in the Commission in recent years, contributing to Shearwater’s unique perspective on the complex and changing EU political and regulatory dynamic for many sectors.
